Since I portupgraded from 3.2 to 3.3 (FreeBSD) and arts 1.3.0,1 I appear
to have lost all sound output. artsd is starting, but if I try to test
sound I see a message on the console about the server being busy. I
can't get any sound even cat'ing a file to /dev/dsp and CDs won't play.
The only error that I see otherwise on the console is a problem reading
/dev/sequencer, but it is there and readable - I've even tried remaking
snd0 in /dev, and starting X as root doesn't help either. Finally, I'm
not currently running any vchans, but I'm not sure if that is necessary
anyway. Oh, my speakers are fine :)
Any suggestions appreciated...
thanks,
joel
