rdesktop and mouse

I've compiled rdesktop. Starting it, has some strange effect to the mouse
cursor: while it is over the rdesktop window, it is surrounded by a black
box. Leaving rdesktops window makes the surrounding black box vanish.

Any idea where this comes from?

I've tried various different setups of X11, but the blackbox didn't
disappear.

HW: mga G200
SW: XFree 4.4.0, rdesktop 1.3.1_1, all from the ports tree as of Mon Oct 4
20:35:05 CEST 2004.
