I would suggest looking at OpenOffice (www.openoffice.org) It is the
free version of StarOffice. Just does not come with Adabas DB but has
most other needed apps. It will work just fine on XP and load MS
formats. Just make sure that she saves .DOC files in Word Win95 format
as that seems the one most compatible with MS-Word.
Every now and then Sun does a free download of StarOffice. That's how I
got mine about 6 months ago.
