Hi

I installed FreeBSD 5.3 on my PC and nvidia 6113 driver (from Nvidia
site). I saw that I FreeBSD came with an older KDE 3.3 and I wanted to
upgrade to the latest version

Ok, I got the following packages:

kde-lite-3.3.2.tbz
kdeaccessibility-3.3.2.tbz
kdeadmin-3.3.2.tbz
kdeartwork-3.3.2.tbz
kdebase-3.3.2.tbz
kdegraphics-3.3.2.tbz
kdehier-1.0_1.tbz
kdelibs-3.3.2_1.tbz
kdemultimedia-3.3.2.tbz
kdemultimedia-mpeglib_artsplug-3.3.2.tbz
kdenetwork-3.3.2.tbz
kdeutils-3.3.2.tbz

I don't have a fast internet connection at home and I can't afford to
do it from my place, so I downloaded the packages from work and then
brought them home.

Then I did this. let's say I wanted to install kdelibs-3.3.2_1. I did
this: whereis kdelibs3, it gave /usr/ports/x11/kdelibs3

I got in the dir and did make deinstall. Then I pkg_add
kdelibs-3.3.2_1.
And so on, with all the files that needed to be replaced (I had to get
the following files because of the warnings:

arts-1.3.2,1.tbz
artswrapper-1.2.1_1.tbz
aspell-0.60.1.1.tbz
cups-base-1.1.22.0.tbz
freetype2-2.1.7_4.tbz
glib-2.4.8.tbz
lcms-1.13_1,1.tbz
libidn-0.5.12.tbz
libmad-0.15.1b_1.tbz
libogg-1.1.2,3.tbz
libvorbis-1.1.0,3.tbz
libxml2-2.6.16.tbz
libxslt-1.1.12.tbz
nas-1.7.tbz
net-snmp-5.2_1.tbz
openldap-client-2.2.19.tbz
pcre-5.0.tbz
png-1.2.7.tbz
qca-tls-1.0_1.tbz
qt-3.3.3_3.tbz
samba-libsmbclient-3.0.9_1.tbz
taglib-1.3.1.tbz
tiff-3.7.0_2.tbz
xorg-libraries-6.7.0_3.tbz
xpdf-3.00_4.tbz

I installed those with the same techique.

Now, when I try to startx, I get this error.

Initializing extension GLX

/libexec/ld-elf.so.1: Shared object "libc.so.6" not found, required by
"kde-config", lnusertmp, dcopserver_shutdown, kdreadconfig, ksplash,
kdeinit, kwrapper, kdeinit_shutdown, dcopserver_shutdown, artsshell

Can anybody tell me what to do? I have exec startkde in the .xinitrc
file, I reinstalled Nvidia driver, but I can't seem to escape this
libc.so.6 error.

Please tell me if there is another way for my case to upgrade KDE, I
feel my solution isn't very elegant.
