Hi!
I have installed FreeBSD 5.3 from the scratch including X.org. xorgcfg
showed the two "dialogs". The mouse pointer worked, the mouse buttons as
well: If I click on "Configure Layout" (left or right button) a menu pops
down. BUT: If I left or right click on the "icons" (keyboard, mouse, etc)
on the central part of the dialog, nothing happens! On XFree86 the left
mouse button allowed to move the icons around, while the right mouse
button opened a menu. Unfortunately this menu (in the "Configure Screen"
section") is necessary to configure the resolution.
In order to locate the problem I upgraded X.org to 6.8.1 without a change.
Then I removed the x.org stuff and installed XFree 4.4.0. Here xf86cfg
worked as it should.
Finally I diff'ed the xorgcfg sources against XFree86. There are lots of
changes but nothing obvious.
Does anybody have a clue what's wrong on my system? Does the right mouse
work on your "icons"?
