I did that several months ago. Then I checked back yesterday to find
out if he's found me a job yet, and he said he doesn't have my resume
in his database, so I need to send it again. So I did again. Then I
called him right back and he said he knows the problem: The database
there (Manpower) doesn't allow any formats except MS-Word and RTF. So I
need to convert my resume into either of those formats before he can
put it in their database so they could then see if they have any job
available for me.

Only for eyeballing, not for putting into their resume database.

Expecting the droids at Manpower, or *any* employment agency, to bend
over backwards for an unemployed person seeking a job, doesn't sound
like a good idea. I did suggest he copy&paste from the e-mail to a text
file then import that into MS-Word, and he said he'd take a look into
that idea, but that doesn't mean he'll actually figure out to do that,
so that's why I'm thinking I need to somehow convert the file myself to
RTF so he can copy&paste from the e-mail to a RTF file which he knows
he'll be able to put in their resume database just fine.
