Sorry, good question - bad post of mine. It is 5.2 purchased, not
downloaded.
More data. I found another MB (Abit NF7), changed it out and got exactly
the same symptom in exactly the same place...
"Mounting root from usf:/dev/md0" All activity stops.
Knoppix loads fine. Debian loads fine. (That is to say, the installer
boots ok - I didn't actually do a complete Linux load.)
The same FBSD will load just fine on my ancient IBM (Tried it again to
make sure).
About to try it on a PIII just to get some more info.
