see answers 28 & 29. Basically its a DNS problem. No DHCP will not do any resolving for you. FAQ says don't use the GUI if you can't resolve the DNS problem. The GUI does a reverse lookup.
Did you make up your host name or does DHCP give you one. Odds are you made one up, if you did then map it to the loopback in /etc/hosts.
