A more appropriate solution would have been to set a 'Followup-To:' header.
And in truth, a better solution would have been to ignore the thread.
The original poster was using KNode, which is available in FreeBSD as
well as Linux. He was not using a google post, or some windoze news tool,
so while the question was somewhat stupid, I did not classify it as a
troll (which I would have ignored).

The disadvantage of that is when you are replying to someone - in this
case, the headers showed I was following the thread in the other group.
As it happens, I read/scan security groups before I get to the specific
O/S groups. That was why I replied there.

>I don't know what makes you freak out about that.

I was making a specific reply to the question ''why did _they_ chose
Linux instead of *BSD''. I quoted the reason _they_ gave. I did
not try to make it advocacy. Your reply rejected that, and went
straight to senseless advocacy and name-calling. The newsgroup trim
coupled with the advocacy and name-calling looked extremely childish.
A lot of people killfile any posting cross posted to an advocacy
newsgroup (never mind not subscribing to them) because advocacy does
nothing to answer technical questions.

>Clearly, I gave you no reason for the insults you sling in my direction.

Reread your post, knowing how I perceived it. You did not come across well
at all.
