According to, http://www.codeweavers.com/products/cxoffice/requirements/
CrossOver has only been tested on various Linux distros, so I doubt it will work
on plain FreeBSD.

I thought maybe FreeBSD's linux compatibility could help, but a google
(http://www.google.com/search?q=freebsd+linux+compatibility+crossover) doesn't
seem to agree :(

Do you really need Word or is OpenOffice a useful alternative in your case?
