I'm somewhere in the middle here.

On the one hand I don't care if Java or flash work or not. In fact I
have run FreeBSD on the desktop for years and don't really miss either.

On the other hand the issues getting Java and Flash installed has
largely led me to the conclusion that they are not necessary, but only
because I use FreeBSD all the time and never seem to need them. To the
average person looking on they might just feel they are necessary part
of life.

I'm wondering where Project Live! will fit into all this.

I've heard rumors the Linux java plugin is freely distributable now and
will be included along with Flash, real player, acroread, and will use
Linux Firefox instead of the native build.

They want to make a port to be able to convert a base FreeBSD install
but I'm not sure if they will then just skip the java/flash portion for
that port or what?

I'm trying to find if they have had a releas yet, but thus far doesn't
apear so?
