Many many many thanks. My first post was more of a shout
in the dark, expressing frustration that too many fairly
basic things just aren't basic. I'll give your info
a shot and let you know how it goes.

In the meantime - if this is what it takes to work...
Why the he## is it wrong to document it or even
(shocking idea) let the port do it right?
