No, that would be bad to dropp the support just because some guy is
unable to configure his machine properly, for whatever reason (from your
post it seems that it is a combination of unsupported hardware, bad luck
and hmm... well, lack of willing, which makes you stop on every minor
problem you encounter).
Just for your information, I have been using FreeBSD 5.x (first it was
5.2.1, then 5.3 and now 5.4) as a desktop OS for over a year. Yes, I
have such an obscure and nowhere existing piece of software as Acrobat
Reader. And I also use Firefox with flash plugin - yes, the same one you
failed to install - and it works.
