as i mentioned.. FreeBSD is meant for a server. many people install
via serial terminal on large deployments, therefore requiring a console
installation. many don't use X at all even after installed and get by
with just lynx, curl, one of many console IRC clients and a various
assortment of mail/news clients in a terminal. I personally use a gewy
to hang 5+ Eterms in and a place for Mozilla, Gaim, and my video/audio
editing stuff. all depends on your useage.
