The only problem I've had with one of those [the coupld I have are
1RU units] is that the default speed setting in the BIOS redirect
is NOT the same as the default serial setting in FreeBSD - so you
can get one to work and not the other until you fix the BIOS to the
speed at which the BSD machine will be using.

It's really nice to be able to get to the BIOS on boot up to check
things if there are problems, and the continue on with the OS
booting on the same connection - just as if you were at a keyboard.

Can you check the speed settings as I described above and and set
the redirect to A. I've had no problems with these - but they are
older and who knows what Intel has done - The Shadow Knows - woops -
wrong program - since they first implemented this.
