FTP problem

Hey, i have a problem here. I have a server running FreeBSD 5.4 and the
standard ftpd. No matter where I am i can connect to it using ftp...
kindof. I can Login anywhere, but unless im on the local network i get
this error no matter what i try except for certain commands such as
user, cd, pwd, and passive that i know of. all other commands receive a
response like this(i changed the name to my.server.com):
# ftp my.server.com
Connected to my.server.com.
220- Welcome to myserver.
220- NOTICE: ALL CONNECTIONS ARE LOGGED!!!
220- ALL UNAUTORIZED ACCESS ATTEMTS WILL BE
220- NOTICED AND YOUR IP WILL BE BANNED FOREVER!!!
220 my.server.com FTP server (Version 6.00LS) ready.
500 AUTH GSSAPI: command not understood.
500 AUTH KERBEROS_V4: command not understood.
KERBEROS_V4 rejected as an authentication type
Name (my.server.com:ianthetechie):
331 Password required for ianthetechie.
Password:
230 User ianthetechie logged in.
Remote system type is UNIX.
Using binary mode to transfer files.
ftp> ls
227 Entering Passive Mode (192,168,0,2,233,69)
ftp: connect: No route to host
I have 2 use passive mode cuz both networks are behind routers with NAT
firewalls. i try turning off passive mode and i get this:
ftp> passive
Passive mode off.
ftp> ls
500 Illegal PORT range rejected.
can anyone help me out?
