BSD cd creation problem

I recently was given 3 Sun Ultra Sparc systems, and would like to try
installing FreeBSD. I have D/Led the 2 ISO files for the cdrom package from
FreeBSD.org. As I have no UNIX system available, they were D/Led to my
WinXP system. I now wish to create the CDs using Nero 6 Ultra Edition.
After 3 attempts (and 6 ruined CD-Rs), I am in search of some assistance or
advice.
Here's the scenario: D/L the files; doubleclick on the ISO file and up
comes Nero's Burning ROM, with the Burn Compilation window opened, and
"Write method" set to Track-at-once; click burn and a cd is created.
However, when I attempt to boot from this CD, the Sun system gives an error,
"Can't open boot device". I have tried creating these CDs on 2 different
machines, one with a CD burner and one with a DVD burner (also burns CDs).
I tried one set of disks using CD-R/W media, and the other 2 (one on each
machine) using standard CD-R media. I am certain the CDROM drive on the SUN
Enterprise 420R UltraSparc-II is working correctly, as I can boot from a
Sun OS 5.6 CD (I'd really rather run Free BSD).
It appears my problem is located somewhere between my ears! I believe
I read that programs such as Nero should be able to create these CDs with
little or no problems, when reading the FreeBSD documentation available at
FreeBSD.org.
Any pointers for a poor lost soul? I could use a few.... any
assistance will be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
- Mike
