Okay here goes the dmesg.boot output:
http://www.fluffles.net/freebsd/troubles

Furthermore, i spent about 3 full hours on this problem, with no result.
Quite now i'm really disappointed that a simple mouse can give so much
trouble. :(

Okay here's what i tried:
- flash motherboard BIOS to latest 1007 version
- disabling ACPI
- trying to force the BIOS to re-distribute interrupts

Furthermore i read quite a bit on problems people has with Asus
motherboards regarding to mouse problems. In particular i read a note
about the newest 1007 BIOS:
"13. Fix IRQ12 not reserved when setting PS/2 Mouse Function Control to
Enabled."

Also in /boot/device.hints i saw two lines regarding PS/2 mouse control:
hint.psm.0.at="atkbdc"
hint.psm.0.irq="12"

It seems that the IRQ for PS/2 mouse is kind of hardcoded to IRQ12 in
the BIOS, but with the BIOS option called "PS/2 Mouse Function Control"
you force the PS/2 mouse to use another IRQ. I tried this and set the
hint.psm.0.irq to various IRQ-settings, as displayed by my BIOS after
POST like "Serial Bus Controller IRQ 11". But then i got the following
message during FreeBSD bootup:
psm0: current command byte:0047
psm0: failed to reset the aux device.

All in all, i tried quite a few things i guess. But it does not work. I
really want to teach my computer who's the boss in this house, but i
still have valuable data on my HDDs so.. :)

FURTHERMORE i tested:
- connecting my mouse to another motherboard and loading FreeSBIE (live
cd) does recognice my PS/2 mouse as IntelliMouse. It works out-of-the-box.
- when i try to boot FreeSBIE on my current system (Asus P4PE
motherboard), the same problem persists.

To me this means:
- problem is not with my FreeBSD settings
- problem is not with my mouse
- problem is with motherboard/BIOS.

Oh god i'd love to set my motherboard into fire..
Maybe anyone feels pitty and has other clues? :)
