Re: Postfix install causes hiccup for fetchmail

Yes, I had those set properly. Then I saw this in /var/log/messages:
Mar 12 12:31:23 auden postfix/smtpd[32643]: fatal: open database
/etc/aliases.db: No such file or directory
So I ran newaliases, even though I had not edited the aliases file in
place from the postfix install.
Reloaded postfix, issued fetchmail, it hung out there for about 10
seconds and then downloaded all my mail. Who knows, perhaps my ISP
didn't like something at this end. Or maybe they implanted a bot for my
and the country's safety. In any event, it (fetchmail) works now, and a
good deal faster than it worked when using sendmail.
thanks for the back-checks,
