First it is not cpu_idle_hlt that i mentioned.
Second better set it to one if you want to enable it.
Third, to see if the kernel sees 2 cpu just look at top
you should see a column with 0 and 1 meaning the 2 cpus.

But does the GPU actually assist with raw conversion etc, or assist with displaying (zooming, viewing multiple layers etc) graphics for which that "number crunching" has already been done? ...
