This being said, answers to posts are read non only by the one asking the
question, but by other parties who may find interesting clues in such
answers even if a troll has sollicited them.

That's also one of the reasons I don't often killfile trolls as "posters". I
prefer to killfile the threads after I or someone else made a useful remark.
The end-result is the same: no long screen-cluttering threads of people trying
on again the impossible task of educating a troll.

Killing a thread is just as fast as killing a poster and the killfile entry
might catch a discussion of a hundred posts. Killing a troll only works until
he changes his name. Which is about twenty times per thread.

Spare your teeth: kill threads, not posters! :-) Helpful people scored highly
will jump out despite the killed thread too. Bonus!
