And chances are the more you will like it. My impression after years of experience with FreeBSD, is that it is based upon the idea of technical excellence and elegance, and not just as a goal, but in practise.

Nope, I was only talking about my experience so far...
Statements like Magnus' one show how pleased one can be if using FreeBSD :p I think there wasn't any marketing envolved, just the fact of using it :)
