I have some images that I need to extract from old powerpoint and pdfBack again...
files (the originals that made the pdf's are gone).
I've found that I can copy them from acroreader to a clipboard that is
also recognized by openoffice.org, but this doesn't let me edit the image
with gimp or xv. It does, however, tranfer the full original image. When
I try to save this from openoffice, however, I get choices of MAP-CERN,
MAP-NCSA, and SIP formats, two of which produce zero length files, and the
other writes a short text header.
What I need is to be able to actually work with the image that is embedded
in the pdf or ppt as a file.

Also export or copy entire doc to clipboard and paste into word processor.
(Interestingly it even works with many so-called secure PDF's)
- PDF Security may be a problem.
Power point, Dunno, try screen capture...
