From a newbee: Time and sound?

Sorry to bug the group, but I've just installed FreeBSD
after years using Linux, and feel a bit lost.
I shuld probably add that I'm using v. 6.0 (yes, I
know, but I had a DVD from an old magazine). Tips
on how to upgrade to 6.2 without having to redo
everything would be welocommed... preferbly by just
downloading and istalling new packages while logged-in
(without burning CDs).

Though I've gotten the right time-zone, my system
clock is way wrong... My hw-clock is set to local
time (and I'd like to keep it that way), but the OS
obviously think it's Universal -- although I *did*
specify that hw-clock was set to local time during
install.
Is there a configuration-file where I can specify
that "Yes, my hw-clock is set to Local-time" ?
If not, where are the scripts for reading from and
writing to the hw-clock, so I could just add/remove
the proper option?

My second problem is sound... as far as I can tell,
no obvious sound-devices are present under /dev.
I *did* see the speaker-device (and a few other
devices) being commented out in /etc/devfs.conf,
so should I uncomment them?
I've installed FreeBSD on a rather old PC with only
an onboard sound-card... it works OK under Linux,
but could my problems be because the OS simply
doesn't recognize my sound-card?
I'm also not 100% sure I installed any needed
package, so to get sound, which packages *must* be
installed?
Thanks for your help.
