Re: FreeBSD 6.2 AMD64 crashing frequently

Hello

For the past three weeks, our AM64 machine has been crashing rather
frequently (at least once a week). This never used to happen. It's
running FreeBSD 6.2 on an Opteron 248.

I've put some photos of the screen at time of the crash:

Both times it was the same "page fault"
Fatal trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode
fault virtual address = 0xa000000000020
fault code = supervisor write, page not present

Same here, running 6.2 (August STABLE release) on a rather old Dell 600SC
(i386 version). I doubt this is an hardware issue since the same box never
crashed with FreeBSD-4.11. For curiosity, do you have ipfilter installed?
