Hi all,
Im looking to get a SATA RAID card but im i bit confused about what to get. I will be using RAID-1 with hot-spares. Must be hardware raid (ie. controller does the work not the cpu) and the disks will be SATA-II 500gb minimum.
While searching for advise it looks like *anything* with
Silicon 'Sil3112A' (like the Intel SRCS14L ) should be avoided becuase it is really software raid or am i wrong ???
Can anyone with SATA RAID-1 experience help ?
The form factor (pci,pci-e) is not important.
Oh, and the budget is 'cheapest reliable solution' for this setup.
Will consider ebay seconds if quality hardware.
Thanks,
Steven
