./build.sh kernel=xyz is new to NetBSD -current and doesn't work in
1.6.1. So, if you just want your 1.6.1 to be up to date, look at the
security advisories. they usually contain a detailed description how to
update that part of the distribution - or search for the document called
"updating a stable netbsd release".
