binaries not stripped in NetBSD 2.0?

Hello...
I hope it will be a feature on the NetBSD 2.0 Release Candidates only.
But, why are all binaries not stripped? Is it a requirement for
debugging SMP and native threads? Will this annoying change be
permanent? Debugging information should not be required in
production binaries, though.
