starting fluxbox

Hi,
I've configured .xinitrc to start fluxbox, but somehow it first starts
twm and after that fluxbox. Also, it refuses to start when I remove or
comment-out the starting of an xterm after calling fluxbox. Can someone
please tell me what's up?
