I checked out NetBSD guide they have. I am pretty sure I added a
user who is in the "wheel" group. I have no clue how to set the
password for the new user. I really have no clue what a "wheel" group
is. I even mounted and umounted a cdrom. I managed to find my way into
the games directory, but I have no clue how to start the games.
I ended up getting to about chapter 9. Then I realized I have no
clue what I was doing. It gets very tiring checking everything out with
the man command. Also I skimmed the rest of the guide for webrowsing. I
seemed to have missed the chapter on using that protocol or program.
The sendmail intro looked nice, but I use gmail.
I think my cdrom doesn't read burned CDs. That definitely explains
why I had to do the FTP install.
I guess I'm looking for more of a user intro, not "I am root so eat
*** intro." I also failed to mention "at work" means cleaning up a
construction site, not my company is upgrading to the next piece of
junk from Gateway.
It isn't that hard to get around in NetBSD. I am just frustraded with
the educational material. Could you give me another suggestion please
Vlad? Even better, could you give me rough directions to get firefox
running on my machine? That would be stupendous.
Thanks,
Josef
