Please let me know if I should post this to another more appropriate
group.
Bootstrapping pkgsrc to a non-netbsd os requires the system to have
the gcc installed. Many such OS now have gcc 3* as standard rather
than 2.95, that
AFAIK is still the standard version for pkgsrc.
How can one work around this problem and get gcc 2.95 installed from
pkgsrc? Pointers to docs welcome.
Have just installed a minimum version of *bsd (just worked with my
hardware, netbsd 2.0 did not configure the Compaq intellinet pci
ethernet card that has a Thunderlan chipset and recognized as tl0 by
the other bsd). That OS offers only a gcc 3.3.2 package, no 2.95
package available.
Thanks and best regards,
lux
