    A lot, 1 GB. Job of the Workstation is compiling embedded systems
    (crosscompiled stuff for arm and mips). Rest of the time my CPU is idle at
    double speed ;).

    Going from 400 to 800 MHz should speed up CPU-intense jobs by a factor of
    two. This is what i have learned with simple benchmarks like the ones we
    have in pkgsrc. Maybe not exactly x2 but something in that area.

    Ram was never an issue for me, but after reading the other posting from
    the OP i agree that more ram will make a cheap and big improvement.
