Here's my setup:
Application server [X client] running FreeBSD 4.7. Using wdm as the
login application.
Sparcstation 2 running OpenBSD 2.9 and X v4.0.1 as the X terminal [X
server]. Works fine
I've just acquired a Sun Ultra 1, and have installed OpenBSD 3.3 and X,
and am trying to get this to run as an X terminal as well. To my
knowledge, I've set up the configuration files in a similar manner to
the SS2. I can run X by using 'startx' on the console of the Ultra 1.
However, when I try to run '/usr/X11R6/bin/X -query [xclient machine]' I
get the gray screen with the 'x' cursor, and my /var/log/XFree86.0.log
ends with 'client rejected' and the IP address of the client machine.
I'm guessing there's a security difference between X v4.0.2 [on the SS2]
and X v4.2.1 [on the Ultra 1], or some other tweak that I am totally
missing.
Yes, the server is set up as an appropriate server on the FreeBSD
machine.
Can anyone shed any light on this? Thanks!
