# locate librecode
/usr/local/lib/librecode.a
/usr/local/lib/librecode.la
/usr/local/lib/librecode.so.0.0
# grep lib /etc/rc.conf
shlib_dirs="/usr/lib /usr/local/lib /usr/X11R6/lib"

should point you enough ;)
I suggest a reboot (while you can add paths on the fly, just trust me and
reboot ;)
