I don't know what the symon port is all about, but it sounds like you
are describing what the browser shows for an image it cannot display.

Check the HTML source. Are the URLs pointing at the right places in the
   document root, or somewhere the server can server pages from? Are
all the public files owned by www.www and are readable by that user?

Have you set up Apache to run PHP scripts? See php.net for help on
Apache-specific information.
