I feel bad posting this, but I have not seen anybody speaking more than
theory.
I recently installed OpenBSD on my old file-server at home, and love it.
I've been wrestling with my old ext3 disks, and trying to get them
over to the BSD filesystem - and am hitting a brick wall everywhere I
turn. That's not my question. ;p
I'm wondering how reliable OpenBSD's ext2 (3 without journaling) support
is. It's going to be awhile until I can scrounge up enough money for a
hard-drive to back my data up to transfer to, before converting over to
the BSD fs. I've got the drives mounted, and I'm wondering if I need to
fear data loss - or not. The data is not crucial, but I would not like
to lose it un-necessarily.
I'm not wondering about theory, I'm wondering if anybody has any actual
experience - or second-hand experience, et al. I know that the ext2 FS
is not native, but I am still wondering if I should unmount the disks
until I have the money for another hard-drive to transfer to.
Thank you for your help,
Jordan T. Cox
