You don't.
I suggest you stick with 1 cpu architecture when installing packages :)

Not really.

I wrote a (laze me) shell script that makes a nice copy/paste package
index from your local (edit that) mirror ftp server. so you'll get the
latest version port packages. Just install ncftp and run it.
