Check whether it is getting power as well. (Though I presume
that you opened the drive, installed, a CD-ROM, and closed it, which
would not happen if the power connector were out.
Is it sharing the same IDE cable as the boot drive, or is it on
a second cable? If the latter, is it jumpered as a master or as a slave
(or cable-select)?.
And -- if a second cable -- is it possible that the cable is
bad?
