I've got an Adaptec 2400A ATA RAID-adapter in my box. It's using the
i2o-driver. I would like to run Adaptec Storage Manager on my Windows PC and
remotely control the RAID-adapter in the OpenBSD-box.
There is a FreeBSD version of Storage Manager on the driver CD. I've
installed the freebsd_lib-4.0.tgz package and activated the emulation with
"sysctl kern.emul.freebsd=1"
The FreeBSD-package on the CD is called ADPTFBSD_311.TGZ but pkg_adding that
results in a "Fatal Error". Instead I unpacked the package manually and
copied the contents according to the +COMMENTS-file but then I'm stuck.
There's one binary called dptscom that looks promising. It lists 2 modules
and an error and gives me a prompt:
Adaptec Communication Engine Server for UNIX
Version: 3.11 Creation Date: 2/1/01
Comm Engine Version: 3.11 Creation Date: 2/1/01
User: root
Computer: gatekeeper.pp.dyndns.biz
0) DPT Engine
1) TCP
Message: 0x000000aa, TgtTag: 0x00000005, Returned: Failure: 0x34c
DPTSCOM->
But I can't connect remotely while this binary is running. There are also a
dptcom and a dpteng but they return no output when run and I still can't
connect remotely.
Has anyone made this work? I would be very grateful for any hints on making
this work.
Kind regards
/tpf
