That seems kind of hand wavy. Lately I have been going out of my way
to follow the top O.S. research, so I was surprised at your
suggestion:
Perhaps some people should look at some of the academic work and
see what can be done with a real virtual memory system instead of
what we've got today.
... which makes it sound like the VM systems in unix/linux are stupid
antiques or at least not "real" ones.

OK, that I knew already. It's a far cry, though, from the claim that
academic work has created real VM systems that make obsolete what we
have today in un*x.
