** Publication of the 2004 Edition of the POSIX 1003.1

I'm pleased to announce the publication of the 2004 Edition of the IEEE
Std 1003.1/ The Open Group Base Specifications Issue 6, which comprises
the core volumes of the Single UNIX Specification Version 3.

This latest edition incorporates the recently published Technical
Corrigendum 2. The specifications are available in html format (available
to all) and pdf (available to Open Group members only, incl
Austin Group members). Look for documents T041,
C046, C047, C048 and C049 in The Open Group publications catalog at

Orders for the hardcopy version of the 2004 Edition are being
