Hi,

I want to be an Unix programer. Here is a list of books I plan to read
one after another. Before reading these books, I know BASIC, C, ASM
and HTML/CSS, but haven't got any actual sofeware developing
experiences. Currently I reached the stage of 4, reading the last
chapter of sed & awk. I have finished the first 3 books in one month,
planning to finish the rest before the end of this summer holiday.

Here is the list:
1, Unix unleashed
2, Learning The Bash Shell [O'Reilly]
3, Learning the vi Editor [O'Reilly]
4, sed & awk [O'Reilly]
5, Advanced Bash-Scripting Guide
6, (on N/Troff *Tex and the like)
7, Unix in a Nutshell [O'Reilly]
8, Programming Perl [O'Reilly]
9, Unix Power Tools [O'Reilly]
10, Advanced Programming in the Unix Environment
11, UNIX Network Programming [Addison Wesley]
12, TCP/IP Illustrated 1-2 [Addison Wesley]

Is the list wisely listed? Does it contain one or two that aren't
worth reading or does it miss any essential books? After finishing the
list I want to do some real open source developing work, starting a
project on sourceforge or joining an established one to gain some
experiences, furthermore I want to be able to program something with a
modern GUI like Gnome(gtk) or Windows(win32), what books should I read
to learn that? What else should I know as an Unix programer besides
all above?

English is not my fisrt language, though I never stop learning it.

Thanks
Jesse Woo
