Correct strod return error checking

Hello, ...

I have a question regarding the strtod() function.

What would be the correct way to check if it returns an error ? I am a
bit confused by the manual page. For example is says that it returns 0
on a error, but what if the original input was a zero ? Then also a
zero is returned ?

Thank you for any answers or idea's..

Chris
