It is not your program's fault that they did not tell it that they did
not consider it equally important with other processes. Changing your
program would result in it being unfairly penalized in cases where
people *want* it to get its work done quickly.

If the people complaining aren't paying me money to be polite to them,
my response would consist of exactly two works -- "man nice".
