How does what compare? I don't quite understand what you want
to compare, or why.

You actually switch back to a virtual console between each
instance of using an X application?

ATT sold a computer that did that well back in 1985... though
those old 3B1's were monochrome.

I can sure see why you don't! Your whole user interface is so
clumsy it makes using almost anything difficult!

Screen is a *great* program for use when logged into a system
via an ascii terminal over a serial port (or anything that
emulates that, such as telnet or whatever).
