Hey Folks,
On Redhat 8.0, with bash 2.05b and readline 4.3, vi line-editing
starts in insert mode.
On the other Unixes I use, it starts in command mode which seems more
natural as I usually want to move about and edit the line, for
example: wwwcwfred<return>".
It wasn't like this with bash 2.05a on earlier Redhats, and having two
behaviours is a time-waster.
Does anyone know how to fix this or where to look?
TIA,
Peter
