I love vi, but the bash vi command-line editing option drove me nuts: I
could never be certain what mode I was in, so I use the emacs mode now.

The 'emacs' keybindings are much like the traditional Unix ones and therefore
more portable, and there's really no way around knowing them because too many
applications use them....Just a thought.

I wouldn't have Emacs on my box, however.
