FWIW, the first Mac with a color LCD display was the PowerBook Duo
270c. It was first sold in 1994.
All previous Macs either used external monitors or have monochrome LCD
displays.
Unfortunately, web searches have been less than useful trying to turn
up a date for when color LCDs were first invented or first used in
commercial products.
