This general sort of questions comes up frequently, so I will be adding
it to the FAQ ( http://aplawrence.com/SCOFAQ/)

First, hardware certification is by the makers of the hardware, so it
is expected and natural that you won't necessarily see a whole bunch of
certified hardware when a new release first comes out.

But a more important issue is this: if hardware is certified or
otherwise known to work on version x where x is less than the current
version, it is EXTREMELY unlikely that it would not work just as well
with the current version. The reverse might not be true, but it's more
than rare for a new version to deliberately or accidentally break
compatibility with older hardware.
