UP1 does not include an enhanced "wd" driver. It does include other
support code which is necessary for the enhanced "wd" driver to work and
support IDE drives larger than 137GB. The driver portion was _supposed_
to be in UP1, but it "missed the boat", it wasn't ready in time for UP1.

It's ready now, being delivered as the "Wd Driver Supplement" which will
be on the web site soon, as well as on the Update CD whose official
title escapes me. A CD label I've seen says "SCO OpenServer Supplement
CD 1 Featuring SCO Update Pack 1", which seems just a tad cumbersome.

This is all going to be a bit confusing due to the odd order in which
the bits have shipped. MP1 and UP1 shipped as web downloads. Now, a
month later, the corresponding CD is about to ship; it contains extra
pieces. Those pieces will also make their way onto the web site.

Among the extra pieces are:

"Wd Driver Supplement": fixes a number of bugs (see its README
  materials); on OSR507+UP1 only, also supports IDE drives >137GB;
on OSR506, adds ATAPI CD & DVD writer support (driver level, you still
need user code like `cdrecord` or commercial backup software)

"wd BTLD": same driver as above, in a form suitable for use at boot
time, if you're unable to start installing without it. NOTE: if UP1
is installed on a system initially installed with the wd BTLD, the "Wd
Driver Supplement" must be installed immediately after UP1 (before
reboot), because UP1 includes older versions of some crucial boot
files and the system can become unbootable.

"Large Filesystem Performance Supplement": OSR507 only (does not
require UP1); increases HTFS performance on large filesystems

Right. Part of the above CD, which is now in manufacturing; will be on
the web site as soon as those gears finish grinding.
